Put together a mere 1,700 pieces in the right order, stick on a page or three of decals, and you're the proud owner of a 3-foot model depicting the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kittyhawk. The detailed, wordless instructions run to 56 pages. Eight one-piece F-14 jets are included to adorn the flight deck. Finished? Not quite. Without telling you how to make them, the instructions also tantalizingly illustrate both an oil tanker and a cruiser that you can make from the same parts. --Richard Farr
