As the battle for Metru Nui rages on, the line between hero and monster has blurred. According to the complex mythology of Bionicle, six heroes return home to find that hordes of spider-like Visorak have taken over the city they fought so hard to save. Trapped and transformed into half-beasts, the Toa Hordika must stage one final epic battle against the Visorak to save the city--and themselves. Enter the Battle Ram. Pulled by a team of leaping Visorak with glow-in-the-dark pincers, this awesome weapon shatters any obstacle in its path. Equipped with a large catapult and nasty set of spikes, the spider-like ram rains "fiery" boulders down on everything around it. The six mini Toa Hordika must figure out how to stave off the ram using their own unique weapons and talents. Thankfully, this 189-piece set is easier to assemble than piecing together the Bionicle backstory--in fact, Toa and Visorak come preformed, so you can play right away. The colorful diagrams found in the detailed instruction booklet are invaluable in assembling the remaining pieces of this set, which requires the building skills of an older child or adult. The set includes six mini Toa Hordika (Vakama, Nokama, Onewa, Matau, Whenua, Nuju), seven Visorak, the battle ram machine, and various weapons and battle accessories. As with all Lego products, the design is customizable and compatible with other sets, including the extensive Bionicle collection (sold separately), encouraging open-ended constructive and imaginative play. --Heather Lyndon

This enormous 325-piece set depicts the scene at Visorak’s gate and features several key members of the Toa Hordika crew: Vakama, Nokama, Onewa, Matau, Whenua, and Nuju as well as seven Visorak fighters. There are huge boulders for the foes to hurl at one another, rappelling lines for characters to use while swinging into action, and a pair of pincers at the front gate for the bad guy Visoraks to capture the good guy Toa Hordikas. As is always the case with LEGO, the set is infinitely adaptable to other LEGO products, meaning you can feel free to plug in knights, astronauts, athletes or whatever other LEGO characters you want.
